GU16 Bees vs Tulse Hill & Dulwich Girls U16 C

Oh that was a great match yesterday! What a great way to close off the year.

This was a polished performance by the 🐝🐝, who dominated the game from the start. Bar one little slip up where we got slightly overconfident and came back to late on one of the rare THD counters and allowed them to score, the match was ours.

Basically I have to give a special shout out to every player, because you all performed the best I’ve seen this season so far. And even more important, you played as a team, with high ball speed, passes, and progressively during the match more and more proper width in attack! What was really great to see (and hear) was that you communicated, sought and found options to get around or through their defence, never got stuck but used the width and going round the back cleverly. 

Our defence was solid, our midfield strong and disciplined, our attack smooth and relentless.

As in previous matches, you also created loads of short corners, but this time these were earned (no shot? Get a foot!) and much better executed, with proper shots and always getting very close, several nearly went in - one was kicked off the line but goal was not given (no malice from the ump)..

With a few shots going only just across the goal- mouth and some only narrowly wide, we could have been looking at an even better score. And credit is due that their keeper, just like our Kitty, did a great job keeping them out.

All in all a very good day at the office 😃
